Why this exists
DESCO prepaid customers lose power when their balance silently reaches zero — often at night or during a holiday when recharging is inconvenient. DESCO Smart watches your balance continuously and warns you while there is still time to act.
From a script to a platform
This project began as a single Python script that checked one meter and emailed a warning. It has been rebuilt as a multi-user platform with per-user meter isolation, stored history, analytics and an administration console — while keeping the same proven balance-checking logic at its core.
How it is built
A Next.js application handles the interface and server actions, Supabase provides authentication and a PostgreSQL database with row-level security, and a scheduled Python worker on GitHub Actions polls the DESCO API and dispatches alerts.
