These Terms of Service govern your use of DESCO Smart. Please read them carefully before creating an account or monitoring a meter.
1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account and using DESCO Smart you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Description of the service
DESCO Smart is an independent tool that monitors DESCO prepaid electricity balances for meters you add and sends automated low-balance alerts. It is a convenience layer over publicly available balance information and does not process payments or recharges.
3. Accounts and responsibilities
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for the accuracy of the meter and account numbers you enter. You must have a legitimate interest in any meter you add for monitoring.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service, attempt to access other users' data, overload the scheduled checks, or use the service to monitor meters you are not authorised to observe.
5. Accuracy and availability
Balance data is retrieved from the DESCO service and is provided on an "as is" basis. Readings may be delayed, unavailable, or inaccurate if the upstream service changes or is down. Alerts are best-effort and should not be relied upon as the sole safeguard against disconnection.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss, disconnection, or damages arising from missed alerts, inaccurate balance data, or service downtime. The service is provided without warranty of any kind.
7. Third-party and DESCO relationship
For all billing, metering, recharge and connection matters you must contact DESCO directly. DESCO Smart is not a substitute for official DESCO services and cannot resolve account issues on your behalf.
8. Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised over time. The current version, with its revision date, always governs your use of the service. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
DESCO Smart is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Dhaka Electric Supply Company Limited. This document describes the practices of this application only.
